Wheat Paste dealing with topic of racism. Racism=STUPID.
I recently opened up my apt/office room to Students in Design (SID) the AIGA Chicago Chapter at Columbia College Chicago to screen print 3 different shirts for a fundraiser. I also did it because I’m the VP + Noel Mercado is the President.
My worktable transitioned from my DJ setup to my Screenprinting setup. Awesome.
My Victorian couch turned into the shirt stock/loading/folding center
Dann Wunderlich’s + My family room turned into an alternative drying room (at night)
The Tribe Studio Night walls were drawn on.
Fort Students in Design’s fundraiser this year, we decided to pre-screen print shirts instead of doing live printing at the schools open house. It was great, I had the opportunity to break out my old screen printing table in my new place.
We ended up finishing up only 2/3 designs with 50 shirts folded away. Tomorrow we’ll have to finish the last batch of 25.
The shirts also took up the whole outside deck area, but wouldn’t dry to the cold so my apartment living room transformed into a drying room. If you were wondering about the walls…yes. People got to kick back and bond over couple drawings on the wall when they were switching in n out.
This is the video of me writing out the Knock Knock joke from the earlier project.
This is a poster I made up for the Chicago Tobacco Prevention contest.
For an experimental type project in class was given the word ORANGE, and could make anything we wanted that played off that word. First thing I thought of was that horrible joke “Knock Knock! Who’s There? Orange! Orange Who? Orange You Glad I Didn’t Say Banana”. I decided to play of that and do some public artwork in the street with chalk. Was great to see people looking at it when I was finished. Even into the night from my apartment window I could hear people talking about it. These are just two photos of the street. I am currently working on getting a video edited of the process. I will post that as soon as its done.
